I attempted to play Myst Online and after I chose my avatar the game froze and gave me the following message.

Quote:
The Uru client has experienced a serious error. Please report the information below.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Exception type: Access violation
Call stack (14 levels):
-0x0067CAF8
--0x0081AFB7
---0x0067EF52
----0x0067EBF9
-----0x0067CD1E
------0x0052EF6B
-------0x00536B6B
--------0x005372FF
---------0x00550E84
----------0x00550546
-----------0x00721FC6
------------0x007202FD
-------------0x0071FAA4
--------------0x0071C27F

^ Replace the dashes with spaces, the forum setup won't show two or more lined up.

I mean, I get the fact that I should report a crash, but does anyone have any idea why I need to report these specific numbers and/or what they mean?

Yes, you should report that, and that's called a "Stack error". Meaning something went seriously wrong. It actually tells the programmers information about where the program went wrong, but to us, the avg. person, it means nothing more than an irritation. I hope you don't see too many of them!

:D Have fun :)

Yeah, send a 'ticket' at the site http://support.urulive.com/ explaining how often this happens, where it happens, ect.

To all monitoring this thread:

Are you using Windows Vista?

See here for a solution:

http://www.mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6987 (substitute mystonline for urulive if you're using the old domain)

I am on my 5th stack dump (error 2011 in gametap) today. It doesnt matter whether I utilize gametap launcher or the Moul Launcher. I have reported the stack dumps. Never had this problem like this in open beta. I deleted my log folder contents for MOUL. I am not trying to be critical but think my input would be helpful.

It might be worth noting that the first and third stackdumps in this thread are very similar, most likely the same issue, while the second one is completely unrelated. In other words, we're dealing with two different bugs.

Was there ever an answer for this... other than Support saying they know about it and will look into it? I submitted a ticket for this same error.

No, that's pretty much all that's been given. Hopefully some of that stuff has been fixed in Build Live 3...
